The umbrella's black canvas is enhanced by the Tournaire and Cherbourg umbrella logos, embroidered in gold thread. Its bronze and diamond handle features a multitude ofengrenages, universal symbols of transmission and movement. For Mathieu Tournaire, these cogs represent both the passage of time and the different members of a family: each one represents a member, and the more cogs there are, the more the forces are multiplied. No matter the size of the cog, each one is essential to the smooth running of the whole. A Tournaire x Le Parapluie de Cherbourg in-house tablet is also engraved on the underside of the handle.
